The Apple Crisp pepper comes from South America. It resembles an upside-down balloon or small pumpkin. Peppers are mild but an develop medium heat depending on growing conditions. These peppers are great for making a mild but fruity salsa or sauce, but seeds should be taken out first to avoid a bitter taste. Its name comes from the fact the some say the pepper has an apple taste and is crispy. Pepper is thick walled. Plants can reach 5 feet tall and should be staked as they can be viney.
